Sarah Wang

Photo/Herbalism

A photographer, curator and herbalist born in Harbin, China, Sarah grew up in the Bay Area from the age of six. She earned her BA in Art Education from San Francisco State University with an emphasis in drawing and painting as well as a CA Teaching Credential in K-12 Art Education. She holds a MFA in Photography and related media from Parsons, The New School. She has completed Level III of Spiritual Herbalism apprenticeship under Karen Rose of Sacred Vibes Apothecary.

Sarah is a Community Herbalist based in New York City and uses her knowledge of various plant medicines to create custom formularies with and for clients. With a background in education, she teaches herbalism workshops in collaboration with others on the same mission — creating access to herbal medicine and providing an herbal care network for those in need. 

Sarah is interested in people and the communities they represent. In her photography and artwork, she collaborates with her subjects constantly exploring new ways and mediums through which to tell their stories.
